Escape to Rajasthan

Breaking news regarding my Rajasthan tour at the end of October. I have always wanted to glamp and Indians do this better than anyone. The idea of regular camping fills me with horror – but throw in cream linen luxury tents, giant beds, lovely bathrooms and you have my attention. Add marigold hand-blocked curtains, teak furniture, royal blue dressing gowns, romantic lanterns and I'm completely sold. To this end, I'm delighted to announce I have included two nights at the dreamy Rohet Wilderness Camp in the giant Thar Desert where we will ride horses, learn about traditional food and navel gaze in the totally quiet moonlight.

For crafts and gastronomy Rajasthan is simply fabulous and very inspiring for the photographers among you. It's the oldest civilisation in the world and the people have absolutely nothing to prove – they are good looking, charming, genuine and wear the most colourful gorgeous clothes in India. This is an unusual tour because my Rajasthani manager Diggi and I have pulled out all our contacts and knowledge to make it romantic, intimate and authentic.

The tour begins with three nights in the enchanting lake city of Udaipur, one night in the hills of Narlai, two nights in the desert and ends with three nights in the stunning blue city of Jodhpur. Our final dinner is held at the spectacular Mehrangarh Fort – think dress-ups, exceptional food, fireworks, musicians and all sorts of understated carry-on.

Soooo .... if you've got the winter blues and need an exotic escape to look forward to – Rajasthan is just the ticket!  Dates are 26 October to 4 November and full details are on the website.
