Wonderful North India
/Another fabulous North India culinary tour is over and Diggi and I are weeping into our chapatis because we won't be singing silly songs, walking down to the river and enjoying cooking lessons with our gastronomads. What a perfect group – they just bonded from day one and that was that – 10 days of happiness, dressing up in saris and turbans and 10 days of celebrating my birthday with 10 birthday cakes. If you turn seventy, how can eating 10 cakes be wrong? In Jaipur we visited a vegetable farm and picked our very own okra, in Goa we walked on the beach in the pitch dark night, in Kolkata we ate lots of bekti (river fish) in mustard sauce and in Darjeeling we drank & cooked with tea. Our wardrobes changed overnight into block-printed Indian shirts and kurtas and our jewellry suddenly turned very chandelier-like. Come and experience North India or Rajasthan with me next October!

As I write this I'm in deepest, darkest Rajasthan, recceing the fabulous Rohet Wilderness Camp for my 2020 Rajasthan tour. As with all my tours, it is vital that I taste all the food, experience all the excursions, sleep in all the beds and so on – therefore ensuring everything is perfect for your arrival! It's a tough life ... but someone's gotta do it. Next stop is NZ for the launch my latest book 'Eat Your Heart Out' on 5th November. Over the summer I'm writing a new book on fashion, speaking at various events all over the country (keep an eye on my Facebook page), lying on the floor staring at the ceiling and sharing food and silly jokes with family and friends.
