You can purchase Extra Virgin Olive Oil from The Village Press or many supermarkets and specialty stores. This oil received a gold award at the 2008 Hawkes Bay Olive Oil Awards and in a recent consumer report, rated in the top three best olives oils on sale in NZ. The oils tested were both NZ and international oils. The judges said Peta Mathias oil had good aromas with lots of olive fruity flavours and was well balanced. Extra virgin is the highest grade of olive oil - it is made with minimal processing to maintain flavour and aroma. It can't have more than 0.8% acidity and must be fault-free as assessed by an expert panel.
